Bus Coupler with RS485 / RS232 Interface

Product Description

The bus couplers BK8000 and BK8100 use the physics of the RS 485 and RS 232C (V.24) specification for data transmission. The use of the bus couplers with a serial interface is suitable for applications which do not require the use of a fieldbus system. Access to the bus couplers can be effected by any control system (e.g. PC with RS 232C interface) via the interface to RS 485 or RS 232C. Data exchange is made via an open, documented protocol. An ActiveX- control (KS8000) is available for Windows 95/NT applications. The ActiveX- control processes the necessary protocol for data exchange with the bus couplers and allows rapid implementation of the application. As an additionally operation mode the bus coupler can be used in Master/Slave mode as a fieldbus multiplexer.

The bus coupler BK8000 communicate via an RS 485 interface. This allows a bus structure with up to 99 participants (addresses can be set by address selector).

The bus coupler BK8100 has an RS 232C interface and is specially designed for peer to peer connection.
